New Delhi: Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, visited the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Saturday morning. A video of the pair praying at the temple with other worshippers has gone viral online.

During the third Test match against Australia, Kohli travelled to Indore. The match lasted just three days and ended in a defeat for India. The temple of Ujjain, where Virat went to pray, is just a two-hour journey from Indore.

In the viral photos and video, Anushka can be seen wearing a pale pink suit, while Virat opted for a white shirt and trousers. The priest who sat next to him seemed to keep his head down low as he prayed.

According to ANI, Anushka Sharma said, "We came here to offer prayers and had a good 'darshan' at Mahakaleshwar temple."

In recent years, Anushka and Virat have become more devout, and they often visit famous Hindu temples to offer their prayers. They have previously been to Vrindavan and Uttarakhand to explore temples. Vamika, the couple's daughter, accompanied them on a trip to Rishikesh and Vrindavan earlier this year. The family went to the ashram of Baba Neem Karoli in Vrindavan and the samadhi of Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj in Rishikesh.

Virat and Anushka tied the knot on December 11, 2017, in Borgo Finocchieto, an 800-year-old village-turned-villa that was renovated and turned into a boutique property. They welcomed their daughter Vamika in 2021. Anushka, who took a break after Vamika was born, will be seen now in the sports drama ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’, in which she’ll play the Indian pace bowler Jhulan Goswami.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, one of the greatest batsmen of all time, has been struggling to score runs in Tests in his last 20 Test innings.
