Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently underwent an angioplasty and is currently recuperating at home. The Gangs of Wasseypur director, who is doing fine, had underwent the cardiac procedure after he complained of chest pain last week, his spokesperson confirmed. The 48-year-old director has been advised rest for a couple of weeks, he added.
Meanwhile, his daughter Aaliyah posted the filmmaker’s first look post angioplasty on social media.
Kashyap made a rare appearance on his daughter's social media as Aaliyah posted a short video clip that gave fans a glimpse of the filmmaker, as he recuperates at home after undergoing a medical procedure earlier this week. Aaliyah, who is studying in the US, recently returned to Mumbai.
Aaliyah appeared to have used a filter as she shared a video of Anurag on Instagram Stories on Friday.
In the clip, Anurag can be seen in a bald look, he is seen smiling with a black mask hanging around his neck. He stares at the camera as it zooms in on his face and then says, "I am so blind." The sound of girls laughing can be heard in the background.
Anurag was admitted to the hospital last week after mild chest pain. Anurag’s spokesperson has told, “Yes, he had undergone angioplasty and is now recovering. Thank you for your concern.”
Sources close to Kashyap have said, “Anurag was complaining about mild chest pain last week and was admitted to the Mumbai hospital for a check-up. Now his angioplasty has done as there was some blockage in his heart. He is fine and doctors have advised him to rest for a few weeks.”
Anurag’s last film ‘AK versus AK’ was released on Netflix on 24 December 2020. His next film ‘Dobara’ is in its post-production stage, the film stars Taapsee Pannu in a lead role.
