New Delhi: Anant Ambani, Mukesh and Nita Ambani's son is all set to marry Radhika Merchant in a lavish ceremony. The engagement ceremony is set to take place today, January 19, at Mukesh Ambani's Mumbai mansion Antilla. The mehendi ceremony was held on Tuesday, the pictures of which went viral on social media where Merchant could be seen in a pink lehenga by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
The preparations for the grand engagement ceremony are all done and everyone has their eyes set on the evening when the 'gol dhana' ceremony will be held. The guests have been asked to dress in Indian festive wear for the engagement ceremony.
Talking about the Gol Dhana ceremony, it is a traditional Gujarati ritual in which coriander seeds and jaggery are distributed to guests. It mainly indicates an engagement in a Gujarati wedding. The bride and her family bring sweets and present to the groom's family. The couple then exchanges engagement rings and seeks blessings from each family's five married women.
A glimpse of the bride-to-be's performance on the song 'Ghar More Pardesiya' from the 2019 film 'Kalank' has also surfaced on social media.
Arti Nayar, who uploaded photos from the pre-wedding event, did her hair and makeup. Anant Ambani's sister, Isha Ambani, was seen in a pink kurta, photos of which were released by renowned stylist Ami Patel.
Previously, Radhika and Anant's Roka ceremony was held on December 29 at the Shrinathji Temple in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, in the company of family and friends.
The Roka was followed by a lavish party at the Ambani home 'Antilia', which was attended by Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor. Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant were greeted warmly in Mumbai following the Roka.
Radhika made headlines in June 2022 as the Ambani family conducted a lavish Arangetram ceremony at Jio World Centre.
'Arangetram' is a Tamil word that indicates a dancer ascending the stage after completing rigorous training. It is the on-stage debut of a student of Indian classical dance and music after years of preparation.
"Anant and Radhika have known each other for a few years and today's ceremony commences the formal journey of their marriage in the coming months," the statement said. "Both families seek the blessings and good wishes of everyone for Radhika and Anant as they start their journey of togetherness."

Radhika Merchant is the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant and hails from Kutch. She has been trained in Bharatnatyam for eight years under Guru Bhavana Thakar of Shree Nibha Arts. Radhika is a New York University graduate. While little information about how the couple met has been published, some reports claim that Radhika and Anant are childhood friends. In 2018, the couple posted a photo of themselves together. The pair later made multiple public appearances together, with Radhika attending all of the Ambanis' major engagements and celebrations.
