Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday levelled a big allegation against Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the two were 'removing' top BJP leaders from their paths to pave the way for Amit Shah to take over as the Prime Minister of India on September 17, 2025. Kejriwal said that the last remaining strongest challenger against Amit Shah was Yogi Adityanath and that his wings will also be clipped.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Lucknow with Akhilesh Yadav, AAP's I.N.D.I.A partner, Kejriwal said that in preparation for Amit Shah's takeover of the Prime Minister's chair, Yogi Adityanath would also be removed from the post of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
Modi Made BJP's No-Post-After-75 Rule: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal said: "When Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, he made a rule that any person above the age of 75 will not find any place within the BJP or the government. They would be retired. The first to be retired under this rule were Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. Many, like Yashwant Sinha and Sumitra Mahajan, did not get tickets [because of this rule]. Others had to resign."
Next year, Modi will turn 75 on September 17. He has decided to make Amit Shah his heir. Shah will take over the PM's post on that day.
Yogi Last Threat To Amit Shah: Arvind Kejriwal
Kejriwal said the work for Amit Shah's takeover has been going on for the last couple of years. "BJP leaders who could have posed a threat to Amit Shah were removed from his way. Leaders like Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, Raman Singh, Devendra Fadnavis, and ML Khattar were all finished," he said.
"Now, only one person remains in BJP who can pose a threat to Amit Shah — Yogi Adityanath. They [PM Modi and Amit Shah] are planning to remove him as well from Shah's way. If they form the government, Yogi Adityanath will also be removed from the CM's post within two months," he said.
Kejriwal said that when he pointed out the BJP's "retirement rule", Amit Shah and other leaders said that PM Modi will lead till 2029. "But Modi himself never said that he would retire after 75. I am sure that PM Modi will follow his own rule other wise people will say that he introduced this rule only to remove LK Advani from his way," Kejriwal said.
