Kolkata: An all-out political war has broken out before the crucial sixth phase of the seventh-phase lok Sabha polls with the the Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee again unleashing a scathing attack on PM Narendra Modi.  In her fresh diatribe, Banerjee said that PM Narendra Modi needs a 'slap of democracy'. Her comments were in response to Modi calling her a ‘toll collector’.

Speaking at a rally in Purulia, the West Bengal chief minister also said that she has witnessed several prime ministers in her political career but hasn’t ever seen a 'lying' PM like Narendra Modi.

Coming down heavily upon the Bharatiya Janata Party, the CM said the saffron party leaders are roaming in West Bengal boxes of cash worth crores, also with Gada (Mace) in one hand and Talwar (sword) in another. “Gada to break people head and Talwar to cut off throat, this is their politics having no ideology.”

Modi had said on Monday that West Bengal under Banerjee was known for "triple T -- Trinamool, Tolabaazi, Tax". Tolabaazi is a term used in the local parlance to describe organised extortion. To which she replied, “the prime minister should make public "how much money he earned from demonetisation."

The verbal attacks between the two leaders also soared after Narendra Modi said he called up Mamata Banerjee twice to discuss the destruction caused by Cyclone Fani, but there was no response.

Banerjee alleged the Modi government's tenure was filled with corruption deals, including in the Rafale fighter jet deal.

Nobody could speak freely against Modi for fear of CBI and Income Tax raids, she claimed.
