New Delhi: Days before Karnataka Assembly polls, a video of Congress President Rahul Gandhi is running rife on social media, in which it is being claimed that Rahul is slamming his own government while addressing a rally.

In the video Rahul Gandhi can be heard critcising the government in Karnataka. He says “The entire government in Karnataka is corrupt”. When it is Congress’ government in Karnataka at present, and Siddaramaiah is the Chief Minister,  then why would Rahul call his own government ‘corrupt’, that too days before the high-stake assembly election?

The video instantly became a laughing stock, with people ridiculing Rahul Gandhi in the comments.

Viral Sach team found out in its investigation that the video that is being circulated ahead of the Karnataka polls actually dates back to the year 2013, when Congress was not the ruling party in the state.

The election in Karnataka will be held this year on May 12 in 223 constituencies, out of 224 of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

BJP MP Rajeev Chandrashekhar was also among those who shared the video.

Therefore the claim that Rahul Gandhi is cursing his own government before the Karnataka elections is false.
