New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming UP assembly election 2022, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a rally in the state after January 23, during which he will be visiting every district to campaign for the UP polls.

After the first phase of the UP elections, a senior BJP leader has claimed that the party will win over 300 seats.

He further claimed that like last time, after the first and second phase of elections, BJP will win over 83 seats in the UP legislative assembly.

Refuting the issues raised by the rebel leaders, the senior BJP leaders said, "neither the reservation of any backward class has been stopped nor the issue related to reservation is pending."

He further said that the leaders who have left the BJP ahead of elections will not make any difference to the party's performance in the upcoming elections.

With less than a month until the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, five BJP MLAs have joined the Samajwadi Party, including Bhagwati Sagar (Bilhaur in Kanpur), Roshanlal Verma (Tilhar in Shahjahanpur), Vinay Shakya (Bidhuna in Auraiya), Brijesh Prajapati (Tindwari in Bahraich), and Mukesh Ver.

Senior BJP leader has also said that the party will be distributing the tickets to only those candidates who can guarantee a win in the UP Election.

"Party will not be distributing two tickets to the members belonging to one family," he said while referring to SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law, Aparna Yadav who has recently joined the party but will not be contesting the upcoming elections.
