New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested a man who alleged climbed on the stage where UP Minister Sidharth Nath was present and threatened to kill himself. According to ABP News sources, the man was nabbed and interrogation is underway.


Sources also clarified that police did not find any blade or sharp objects from him which could harm the UP Minister. Earlier, there were reports that an attempt was made to attack Uttar Pradesh Minister Sidharth Nath Singh today. It was being said that a man tried to attack the UP Minister when he was on his way to file his nomination for the upcoming assembly elections, but police have refuted such claims. 


Siddharth Nath Singh is contesting polls from the Allahabad West seat. Singh who is currently the Minister of Khadi and Villages, Sericulture and Textile in THE Yogi Adityanath's cabinet is a significant face for the upcoming elections.


In the 2017 assembly elections, BJP had fielded him from Prayagraj (Allahabad) West assembly seat. He defeated Pooja Pal, who was a BSP MLA for 10 years in this election and after BJP formed the government in Uttar Pradesh, he was given the charge of Health Ministry. He is also the official spokesperson of the Bhartiya Janta Party in Uttar Pradesh.


Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya filed his nomination from Sirathu in the Kaushambi district today. 


Uttar Pradesh will witness elections in seven phases. The voting for the first phase in UP elections 2022 will be conducted on February 10, while the second phase, third and fourth will be held on February 14, 20, and 23 respectively. The fifth, sixth, and second phases will witness polling on February 27 and March 3 and 7 respectively.


The Election Commission will announce the Uttar Pradesh election results 2022 on March 10, 2022.
