New Delhi: Since Uttar Pradesh is marching towards the assembly polls, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav met the leaders of allied parties to discuss the formula for seat distribution. The meeting took place in Lucknow on Wednesday.
The overall formula of contesting the election with a pre-poll alliance decided by SP and its allies is that some seats will be given to certain members of the allies, and some members of allies will be able to contest on SP seats.
Post the meeting, Yadav posted a picture of the allied leaders saying “With the top leadership of all the allies of SP, today's talk of development and future of Uttar Pradesh took place.”

Although Yadav may have not revealed the seat distribution in one go, ABP News has learned that there is a tentative seat distribution plan provided in which Yadav has said that one seat each will be left for Mamata Banerjee and Sharad Pawar’s party.
The tentative distribution for other seats is such as- RLD: 26-30 seats, Om Prakash Rajbhar's Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party: 8-10 seats, Keshav Dev Maurya of Mahan Dal: 3-5 seats, Sanjay Chauhan's Janwadi Party (Socialist): 3 seats, Krishna Patel of Apna Dal (Kamerawadi): 2 seats, TMC: 1 seat, and NCP: 1 seat.
After the meeting on Wednesday, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar said that the allied parties have pledged to make Akhilesh Yadav the next Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
“We have pledged to make Akhilesh Yadav the next CM of Uttar Pradesh. The list of candidates of the SP-led alliance will be released in a phased manner. My party will not contest in the first & second phases,” he said while talking to news agency ANI.
Uttar Pradesh will go on polls from February 10 in a phased manner to elect an assembly of 403 seats.
