New Delhi: An error was reported in the electoral roll at Patna’s veterinary college booth when somebody else’s picture was found printed against the name of former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav’s son and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
The Election Commission upon receiving the report of the ‘goof-up’, has directed the district magistrate to take investigative action in the matter.
The error was not only in the photograph of Tejashwi, but discrepancy was also there in his age. However, EC officials said that Yadav will be allowed to vote if he comes with any of his identity cards.
Polling for the Lok Sabha is underway in Patna in the seventh phase.
The Yadav family has been casting their votes at Patna’s Veterinary College since years. The family will cast votes here in the absence of the RJD supremo today.
However, the voter list at the booth has incorrect details and pictures of Tejashwi.
Polling is currently going on in the eight Lok Sabha constituencies - Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Ara, Buxar, Jehanabad, Sasaram and Karakat.
Till 10 am, 10.65% voter turnout was recorded in Bihar.
