Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Saturday that his party punctured all four tyres of the BJP in poll-bound Telangana and would do so in Delhi soon. He told voters in Telangana that BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao should remember that the Congress built the school and university where he studied.
The Gandhi scion described the upcoming election as a battle between 'Dorala Sarkar' (feudal government) and 'Prajala Sarkar' (people's government), saying that while people hoped for a pro-poor and farmer government, Rao dashed their hopes.
"KCR is asking what Congress has done. KCR... the school in which you studied and the university you studied in, they were set up by the Congress party. The airport from where your aircraft takes off was built by the Congress. The outer ring road on which your vehicles are plying was constructed by the Congress,” he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
He also credited his party entirely with the formation of Telangana.
"The Congress party was responsible for transforming Hyderabad into a major IT hub in the world," the Congress leader stated.
He slammed the KCR family, saying they own all "moneymaking portfolios".
Gandhi accused Rao of stealing Rs one lakh crore from the Kaleswaram irrigation project.
He also accused the BRS MLAs of stealing Rs 3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu scheme beneficiaries and grabbing lands in the name of computerisation and Dharani while the Congress party distributed lands to the poor with rights during its tenure.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the BRS government diverted Rs 5500 crore from the ST subplan and Rs 15,000 crore from the SC subplan.
"For the past 10 years you have seen Dola Sarkar and in the next 10 years you will get to see Prajala Sarkar," he said to the crowd.
He listed the Congress' "six guarantees," saying that under Mahalakshmi, women beneficiaries could receive up to Rs 5000 in monthly pensions, free bus travel, and LPG cylinder subsidies.
He claimed that the BJP and BRS are one and have a tacit understanding. He claimed that previously, BJP leaders roamed arrogantly, but the Congress party "removed gas" from them and "punctured" all four tyres of the saffron vehicle in Telangana.
"BRS wants to pump up their tyres. They don't realise, however, that the Congress party has permanently damaged the BJP's tyres. Now we're going to Delhi to puncture all four tyres on Modi's car," he joked.
He lashed out at the BRS and the BJP, saying they always supported each other.
Gandhi emphasised the importance of defeating BRS in Telangana and then Narendra Modi in Delhi.
KCR claims that Modi wants to be in power in Delhi and that the latter wants to be the chief minister of Telangana.
