New Delhi: Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader K T Rama Rao on Tuesday trained guns at Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his recent criticism of the state government over including irrigation projects.  Rao accused Rahul Gandhi of uttering lies about the government. Mocking Gandhi over Congress’ loss in Amethi in UP civic elections, Rama Rao said  "Uttar Pradesh is your own state. You should first win there", news agency PTI reported.

Hitting out at the "grand alliance" of Congress, TDP, CPI and Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) for the assembly polls, the minister in Telangana government, sought to know the basis on which these parties had come together.

Rama Rao, the son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, said the Congress “uttered lies” about the cost of Kaleswaram irrigation project and others during his visit to Telangana on October 20.

He was quoted as saying: “Rahul Gandhi came to Kamareddy. He said big things. He said I will not speak false things. All that he spoke was lies. He said your Chief Minister is spending Rs one lakh crore for Kaleswaram. That is the first lie. Kaleswaram expenditure was Rs 80,000 crore."

Rahuil Gandhi had also alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao insulted B R Ambedkar by changing the name of the project named after him. He also alleged that CM Rao changed the project designs and inflated its cost from Rs 38,000 crore to Rs one lakh crore.

K T Rama Rao said TRS is neither afraid of PM Modi nor Rahul Gandhi and not even Chandrababu Naidu.

Rama Rao was addressing a campaign meeting in Yellareddy assembly constituency for the December 7 assembly elections in the state.
