Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has released the first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly Elections in Telangana. The party has fielded MPs Soyam Bapu Rao from Boath, Arvind Dharmapuri from Koratla and Bandi Sanjay Kumar from Karimnagar. T Raja Singh, whose suspension was revoked earlier in the day, will contest from Goshamahal. Sitting MLA and election committee head Eatala Rajender will contest the elections from his current seat -- Huzurabad.

The list contains the names of 52 candidates out of 119 seats the state assembly has. Telanaga will vote on November 30 and the results will be announced on December 3, along with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram.

The BJP has four Lok Sabha MPs from the state. Union minister and BJP state president G Kishan Reddy is another MP whose name is not on the first list. The polls would be a crucial test for the party ahead of next year's general elections as BJP doesn't rule any of the southern states. The only state it was in power, Karnataka, was won by Congress earlier this year.

The BJP earlier revoked the suspension of party leader T Raja Singh. He was suspended in August last year and he was also booked by the Police for his alleged derogatory comments against Prophet Muhammad.

In a release, the party said that its Central Disciplinary Committee has decided to revoke Singh's suspension on the basis of his reply in the matter.
