New Delhi: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Chandrababu Naidu will depart on a foreign trip following the conclusion of polling for Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday (May 19).
Accompanying him will be his wife Bhuvaneswari, son Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law Brahmani, and grandson Devansh. This comes after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy commenced a two-week-long foreign tour on Friday, as per a report of The News Minute.
Following weeks of rigorous campaigning in support of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) candidates, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with his family, departed for London on a special flight Friday night. Joining him on the trip are his wife YS Bharathi and their daughters Harsha and Varsha.
On Tuesday, a special court for CBI cases granted permission to Jagan Mohan Reddy for his upcoming foreign tour. Scheduled to return to Andhra Pradesh on June 1, just three days prior to the vote counting on June 4.
Reddy's absence coincides with the conclusion of elections for the 175-member Assembly and all 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, held on Monday, May 13. The YSRCP is currently engaged in a direct electoral battle against the tripartite alliance of the Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena, and BJP.
The day prior to his departure for London, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the office of I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee) in Vijayawada. Expressing confidence, he said that the YSRCP would maintain its hold on power, emphasising his belief that the party would secure even more seats than it did in 2019.
"We have won 151 Assembly and 22 Lok Sabha seats in 2019 and we will win more seats in this time to provide a much better government," he had said, as per a report of The News Minute.
