New Delhi: The final results of Assembly election in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana could get delayed on Tuesday after the latest order issued by the Election Commission. The EC has ordered prime EC officers in the 5 states to issue a certificate to candidates after every round of voting. The EC has also asked to hand over a copy each to media and party agents.
As per the order of Election Commission of India, after every round of counting, the counting will be observed and the certificate will be signed by the assigned returning officer and thereafter released. Also, along with this the announced numbers will be displayed at the display boards placed at counting stations.
Every round of counting will therefore be displayed via Public address system. Roundover result sheet will also be given to the candidate and its party; also the same will also be handed over to the media.
The roundover counting sheet will also be uploaded on the counting software by the returning officer.
This comes after Congress had demanded the same from state Election Commission and National Election Commission; to ensure no loopholes while the counting takes place.
Though this is likely to bring more transparency in system, but is also likely to delay the final results.
Earlier, it was being said that it will be clear which party will form the government by 1pm in the afternoon. But, now it could take longer after EC order.
