I.N.D.I.A Bloc Rally: Former Maharashtra CM and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray delivered a scathing rebuke to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during his address at the mega rally organised by the I.N.D.I.A bloc at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan today. Thackeray accused the BJP of absolving corrupt people and advocated for a change in government at the Centre, proposing "mili-juli sarkar".

"BJP's current ambition is to secure over 400 seats... It's time for a change, for one party and one person's government to step down... We're not here for an election campaign; we're here to safeguard democracy... BJP cleansed individuals they once accused of corruption," Thackeray remarked.

Highlighting the alleged hypocrisy of the BJP, Thackeray questioned how a party riddled with corruption scandals could effectively govern. He pointed out instances where opposition leaders were targeted, including the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and accusations levelled against Hemant Soren.

Thackeray's comments come in the wake of recent developments, notably the closure report filed by the CBI in the Air India-Indian Airlines merger case, in which NCP leader Praful Patel was a key suspect. Read the full report here

"The BJP labels this rally as a gathering of thugs. I ask you all, are you all thugs? The BJP harbours all the thugs within its ranks. They're all 'jumlebaaz'," Thackeray asserted.

Earlier in the day, the BJP had criticised the gathering, refuting its purported objective as a "save democracy" rally and instead characterising it as an attempt to "save family" and "conceal corruption". Click here to read the full report.

The mega rally, occurring nine months after the formation of the I.N.D.I.A bloc and amidst recent challenges, witnessed leaders from various opposition parties coming together at Delhi's historic Ramlila Maidan to demonstrate collective strength.

Against the backdrop of recent arrests of key opposition figures like Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal, the Congress clarified that the aim of the "Loktantra Bachao Rally (Save Democracy Rally)" was to uphold the principles of the Constitution and democracy, rather than to support any individual leader.
