Jaipur (Rajasthan): Two groups clashed against each other near a polling centre in Fatehpur this morning. The cause of the fight was not immediately known but is presumed that political enmity could have led to it.

Visuals showed police baton charging a group of people responsible for the clash. Some of them were seen bearing injuries on their faces and heads. Situation was in control till last reports came in. The police had to lathi charge after failed attempts of placating the enraged groups.

Elections in Rajasthan have so far been peaceful expect for this particular incidence of violence.

Fatehpur is a part of Rajasthan's Sikar district and is part of the Shekhawati region.

Polling was going on at a brisk pace in the state where nearly 42 per cent of the over 4.74 crore voters exercised their franchise till 1 pm amid tight security.
