New Delhi: With 25 newly elected candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, Rajasthan faced a fierce battle for seats between BJP and Congress. Conducted in two phases, the first day of polling in the state was April 19 and it was already concluded by April 26. Out of the 25 constituencies in the state, 12 had their polls in the first phase and the remaining 13 contested for polls in the second phase.

Several constituencies of the state had crucial figures contesting in the race for Lok Sabha seats. From Kota was the current speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla contesting against Prahlad Gunjal of Congress, Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal contested from Bikaner seat against Congress candidate Madan Gopal Meghwal, and Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was facing Congress's Karan Singh Uchiyarda. Apart from these, Ajmer and Barmer were also key constituencies from Rajasthan.
