After fielding parliamentarians in Madhya Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its initial list of 41 candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan elections, nominating six Members of Parliament in key constituencies. Notable among these selections is the candidature of Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore to contest from Jhotwara, Diya Kumari from Vidhyadhar Nagar, Baba Balaknath from Tijara, Hansraj Meena from Sapotra and Kirodi Lal Meena to contest from Sawai Madhopur.
The BJP's decision to field six MPs in Rajasthan reflects its electoral aspirations in the state, which holds 19 constituencies that have historically eluded BJP victories. This strategic move underscores the party's determination to expand its footprint and secure a strong presence in the forthcoming elections.
BJP Will Bring Governance In Rajasthan In Alignment With PM Modi's Vision: Rajyavardhan Rathore
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the Member of Parliament for Jaipur Rural, affirmed the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) commitment to eradicating corruption, terrorism, and appeasement as they prepare to contest the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan. His response came after the party named him as a candidate for the Jhotwara seat in Jaipur.
Taking aim at the Congress government, Rathore raised concerns about various issues, including corruption and paper leaks. He emphasised that the BJP's election campaign in Rajasthan would be centered around the image and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a promise to deliver effective governance, PTI reported.
"We will bring governance in Rajasthan in alignment with PM Modi's vision. We will demonstrate zero tolerance towards terrorism, appeasement, and corruption," Rathore stated during a press interaction, as quoted by PTI.
Rathore also criticised the previous Congress administration, alleging that corruption had reached its zenith during their rule, and the aspirations of the youth had been squandered.
"The Congress failed to establish an investment-friendly environment. There were 18 instances of paper leaks. The chief minister seemed more focused on bolstering his image through advertisements," Rathore asserted.
According to Rathore, the Congress government had fallen short of delivering on its promises and had primarily resorted to making announcements without effective implementation.
Responding to inquiries about BJP fielding Members of Parliament in the Assembly elections, Rathore exuded confidence, predicting a resounding victory for the party. He expressed assurance that the BJP would secure a substantial majority and subsequently form the government.
In response to the election schedule announced by the Election Commission today, Rajasthan BJP leaders expressed their confidence in the party's groundwork and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's contributions to their campaign. Voting for all 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan is scheduled for November 23, with the results to be revealed on December 3.
Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore asserted, "The BJP is fully prepared for the elections. The Congress government formed on the basis of lies will end." He further criticized the chief minister, accusing him of self-aggrandizement at the expense of public funds, PTI reported.
Deputy Leader of Opposition Satish Poonia emphasised the significance of Narendra Modi's leadership and accomplishments in their electoral strategy. Poonia remarked, "Modi's face and work will give the party an edge in the election," underlining the BJP's strong grassroots organisation.
Poonia also cited corruption and paper leaks as prominent issues that would be used to challenge the Congress in Rajasthan.
