Rajasthan Elections 2023: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sharpened his attack on PM Narendra Modi at a rally in Rajasthan on Saturday by saying that no caste exists for the PM. Lashing out at the BJP for fielding former Congress leader Girraj Malinga, Gandhi said no caste exists for PM Modi when it comes to rights, but suddenly he talks about OBCs and Dalits when it comes to "promote fighting".
Malinga is MLA from the Congress party from Rajasthan's Bari. He was accused of assaulting a Dalit engineer last year who was hospitalised. The party did not field Malinga this time and he, hence, joined the BJP.
The saffron party gave him a ticket from Bari and since then, Congress has been questioning the rival party over its decision.
"...PM Narendra Modi says that there is no caste; there are only poor. When the time came to give rights, then there is no caste...When it is time to promote fighting, then there are OBCs and Dalits... " Gandhi said in Dausa.
"The Congress Party gave you seven guarantees...We do not want India of Adani... That's why we have given seven guarantees..." he added.
Talking about his party's promises in Rajasthan, he said Congress will transfer Rs 10,000 per year in the bank accounts of women of Rajasthan and LPG gas cylinders will be given for Rs 500. "... We have made English schools in the whole of Rajasthan... PM Narendra Modi cancelled the Old Pension Scheme... We have implemented it in Rajasthan... Lakhs of people have benefited from it..." he said.
On Saturday, party Chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot met the engineer at the SMS hospital in Jaipur. Kharge said the condition of the engineer was not good as he couldn't even sit.
