New Delhi: In his first-ever assembly elections, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Sachin Pilot delivered a striking performance and emerged victorious with a huge margin from the Tonk assembly seat which witnessed a tight-race between him and BJP’s only Muslim candidate Yoonus Khan.
BJP was banking upon Khan who was the only Muslim candidate fielded by the party in Tonk which is a Muslim-dominated seat.
Pilot won with a huge difference of 54,179 votes on the Muslim dominated seat.
It was the first assembly elections for 41-year old Pilot, a two-time Member of Parliament.
As counting of votes continues, so far the Congress has won on 15 seats, while BJP has won on 10 seats. Congress is leading on 88 seats and BJP is leading on 60 seats. BSP has won on 3 seats.

The VIP seats have witnessed the victory of the key candidates. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has won from Jhalrapatan , former CM Ashok Gehlot has won from Sardarpura.
Though Congress is predicted a clear majority, it will face a difficult time deciding the Chief Minister of the state.
