Congress leader Rahul Gandhi filed a nomination from the Rae Bareli seat on Friday (May 3). Amid the nomination, party national president Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, and her husband Robert Vadra were also present with him.


After the nomination, Rahul Gandhi wrote on his social media X, "The nomination from Raebareli was an emotional moment for me! My mother has entrusted me with the responsibility of the family's workplace with great confidence and given me the opportunity to serve it."


He further wrote, "Amethi and Rae Bareli are not different for me, both are my family and I am happy that Kishori Lal ji, who has been serving the area for 40 years, will represent the party from Amethi. In the ongoing fight for justice against injustice, I seek the love and blessings of my loved ones. I am confident that all of you stand with me in this fight to save the Constitution and democracy."






Voting For Rae Bareli And Amethi's Seat To Be Held On May 20


On Friday, the Congress party resolved the uncertainty by choosing Rahul Gandhi for Rae Bareli and Kishori Lal Sharma for Amethi constituencies at the last moment. These constituencies are scheduled for voting during the fifth phase on May 20.

Rahul Gandhi will be contesting against Dinesh Pratap Singh, who defected from Congress to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in Rae Bareli. Dinesh Singh currently holds the position of Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Uttar Pradesh Government. Additionally, Rahul Gandhi is also a candidate for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala, where voting occurred during the second phase on April 26.
