New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Punjab assembly elections 2022, Captain Amarinder Singh, the former chief minister of Punjab, said that his newly formed Punjab Lok Congress will not form a post-poll coalition with the Indian National Congress or the Aam Aadmi Party.
Singh also expressed confidence in the alliance formed by his party with the BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) to win the elections.

Taking to Twitter, Captain Singh's media advisor Raveen Thakural quoting him wrote: "No question of post-poll alliance with Indian National Congress or Aam Aadmi Party. Punjab Lok Congress will win in alliance with BJP and SAD (Sanyukt). Hope Election Commission of India relaxes curbs soon so I can visit all 117 constituencies to talk to people and take our message to them."
The founder of the Punjab Lok Congress and former chief minister of Punjab will run for the Patiala seat in the upcoming state Assembly Election 2022.
The former chief minister on Sunday announced the first list of his party Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) candidates from 22 constituencies for the February 20 state assembly elections, with ex-captain of Indian hockey team Ajit Pal Singh entering the fray from Nakodar.
Punjab Legislative Assembly 2022 Updated Schedule
After multiple political parties from Punjab urged the Election Commission of India Punjab (ECI) to reschedule the single-phase state assembly election poll date in view of Guru Ravidas Jayanti, ECI has accepted the demand.
Earlier this month after the meeting, ECI had announced that the votes in Punjab will be cast on February 20 instead of the earlier schedule of February 14.
Date of Notification: January 25, 2022 (Tuesday)
Last date of Nomination: February 1, 2022 (Tuesday)
Date of Scrutiny: February 2, 2022 (Wednesday)
Date of Withdrawal: February 4, 2022 (Friday)
Date of Poll: February 20, 2022 (Sunday).
Counting of Votes: March 10, 2022 (Thursday).
