Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a significant National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rally, 'Prajagalam,' in Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday evening. This marks the first joint public meeting of NDA partners in Andhra Pradesh in a decade, as reported by news agency PTI.
PM Modi will be accompanied by TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan at the public meeting. In this rare occurrence, all three leaders will share the stage for the 2024 polls.
Named 'Prajagalam,' the rally signifies the beginning of NDA's election campaign in Andhra Pradesh leading up to the simultaneous Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha polls scheduled for May 13, as per PTI.
According to PTI, Janasena stated that 'Prajagalam' aims to combat divisive politics and foster a prosperous future for Andhra Pradesh. The TDP, Janasena, and BJP are mobilising their supporters in large numbers for the event.
In anticipation of the rally, the TDP unveiled a special logo featuring the images of Modi, Naidu, and Kalyan.
The NDA partners settled on their seat-sharing arrangement for the Lok Sabha and state polls following extensive discussions held at Naidu's residence in Undavalli on March 11. Under this agreement, the BJP will contest six Lok Sabha and 10 assembly seats, while the TDP will contest 17 parliamentary and 144 state seats.
Janasena, led by Pawan Kalyan, will contest two Lok Sabha and 21 assembly seats.
Naidu has already announced 128 candidates for the assembly polls, with 16 more expected to be announced soon. Janasena has announced seven candidates, with Kalyan himself contesting from the Pithapuram constituency. The BJP is yet to announce its candidate list.
Naidu affirmed days ago the collective decision of the BJP, Janasena, and TDP to contest the Lok Sabha and assembly elections together under PM Modi's leadership. "We are committed to the progress and development of Andhra Pradesh and the upliftment of the people of our state. We are committed to the development of our nation, aspiring for India to rise as a global leader," he had said, PTI reported.
