Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the BJP workers at the party headquarters in New Delhi after the Bharatiya Janata Party secured a historic victory in the Haryana Assembly election on Tuesday, October 8. During his address, he thanked the Haryana electorate for polling in BJP's favour and lashed out at the Congress for "hatching conspiracies" to "weaken India's democracy and social fabric".

Referring to the opposition doubting the poll verdict in Haryana, he claimed that Congress was trying to defame India's institutions and was misleading people. PM Modi also said that the Congress got a "befitting reply" from the farmers, Dalits, and OBCs in Haryana, who voted for the BJP to "show them that they stood with the country".

"...For some time now, many conspiracies are being hatched against India. Many conspiracies are being hatched to weaken India's democracy and social fabric. International conspiracies are being hatched. National parties like Congress and their allies are involved in this game. Today Haryana has given a befitting reply to every such conspiracy. Every Indian will have to take a pledge that we will not let any such conspiracy succeed. India will not deviate from the path of development," PM Mod said.

'Congress Wants To Weaken India By Spreading Anarchy, Got Befitting Reply'

PM Modi alleged that the Congress wants to "weaken the country" by "spreading anarchy" as reasons behind the latter's "attempts to instigate farmers". He further said that the grand old party tried to instigate the Dalits and OBCs in the country as part of its "conspiracy".

"Congress wants to weaken the country by weakening the Indian society and spreading anarchy in India, that is why they are instigating different sections. They are constantly trying to ignite a fire. The country saw how attempts were made to instigate farmers, but the farmers of Haryana gave them a befitting reply that they are with the country, they are with the BJP. Many attempts were made to instigate Dalits and OBCs but this society also recognized this conspiracy and said that they are with the country, they are with the BJP."

'Congress Deprived Dalits Of Roti, Pani, Makan For Decades'

PM Modi further slammed the grand old party for not providing the backward classes and the Dalits of the basic necessities needed for survival. He also claimed that the party would "never allow" someone from the backward community to become India's PM as it "hates them".

"Congress has done a lot of atrocities against the Dalits and backwards. For decades, they (Dalits and backwards) were deprived of 'roti, pani and makan'. Congress will never allow a Dalit or backward to ever become India's PM because Congress' family hates Dalits, backwards and Adivasis," he said.

PM Modi Lauds Workers, JP Nadda, CM Saini For Haryana Hat-Trick

The Prime Minister also lauded the party workers and leaders for their hard work that led to the BJP's historic hat-trick in Haryana.

PM Modi said: "The victory in Haryana is the result of the hard work of the party workers, JP Nadda, CM Nayab Singh Saini. Today, the guarantee of development has overpowered the knot of lies. The people of Haryana have created history. Haryana was constituted in 1966. 13 elections have been held in Haryana so far, out of which in 10 elections, the people of Haryana have changed the government but this time what the people of Haryana have done never happened before. For the first time, a govt has been formed in Haryana after completing 2 terms of 5 years..."

Mocking Congress for not being able to attain majority since 2011, he said: "Wherever BJP forms government, the people there support BJP for a long time. And on the other hand, what is the condition of Congress? When was the last time a Congress government came back to power? About 13 years ago in 2011, their government was repeated in Assam and since then their government has not been formed again...In most of the states of the country, people have put up 'no entry' boards for Congress."

'BJP Emerged As Biggest Party In J&K': PM Modi

Besides the Haryana Assembly election results, the Election Commission also declared the Jammu Kashmir election results on October 8. In J&K, the Congress and National Conference will form a coalition government after securing 49 seats out of 90. BJP, however, finished second, bagging 29 seats in the Union Territory.

On the J&K polls, PM Modi said: "Peaceful elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir, votes were counted and results were declared and this is the victory of the Indian Constitution and democracy. The people of Jammu and Kashmir gave the mandate to the NC alliance, I congratulate them too. If we look at the vote share percentage, BJP has emerged as the biggest party in Jammu and Kashmir..."
