PM Modi In Morena: Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday revealed “eye-opening” facts on “inheritance law”. PM Modi alleged that when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi died, Rajiv Gandhi, his son and also a former Prime Minister, scrapped an inheritance law that existed in order to reap benefits and save his ancestral wealth.

“When former PM Indira Gandhi died, her children were going to get her property. But there was a rule earlier, that before the property goes to the children some part of it was taken by the government. To save the property so that it does not go to the government, the then PM Rajiv Gandhi scrapped the Inheritance law,” the PM said at a poll rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena.

Soon after his remarks, Congress's Jairam Ramesh clarified, saying, "There is no mention of Inheritance Tax in our manifesto, it is not our agenda. The truth is, that in 1985, PM Rajiv Gandhi abolished the Inheritance Tax. We never mentioned anything about Inheritance Tax and it is not a part of our agenda."

After his "infiltrators" remark sparked a row across the political landscape of the country, PM Modi said that Congress’s government in Karnataka committed a “sin” as it granted all castes and communities of Muslims in the list of OBCs for reservation in employment and educational institutions under the state govt. Simply put, all Muslims of Karnataka state have been considered as OBC under Category II-B.

Addressing the Vijay Sankalp Rally in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, the PM said, “You (referring to the people) would be surprised to know what a ‘sin’ Congress has committed in Karnataka. The grand old party added so many new people into the OBC community that earlier OBCs used to get reservations in education and government jobs but now the reservation they used to get was secretly snatched away from them.”

Speaking at the rally, PM said, “Assume someone comes and tells you that a particular community has been declared something else, would that be acceptable to you?”

“These (Congress) people are again using religious appeasement as a pawn. There is a Congress government in Karnataka. They have declared all the people of the Muslim community in Karnataka as OBC,” he went on to say.

Calling Congress an ‘anti-development’ party, PM Modi said, “The people of Madhya Pradesh know that once you get rid of a problem, you should stay away from it. Congress party is such an anti-development party.”

“Madhya Pradesh had become one of the 'Bimaru Rajya' during Congress' rule. After filling the potholes of Congress, the BJP has given a new identity to Chambal and Madhya Pradesh,” PM Modi said, adding, “The people of Bhind, Morena, and Gwalior, who have seen the dark period of the Congress, are experiencing the development that has taken place under the BJP government more”.

Further saying that the saffron party has filled the ‘potholes’ of Congress, PM Modi said, “How can the people of Chambal forget the time during Congress rule? During Congress' rule, Chambal's identity was bad governance.”

“Nothing is greater than the country for BJP. But for Congress, it is family first. Congress' policy is to keep the one who makes the maximum contribution, hard work, and dedication for the country at the back,” he added.

Making a poll promise, the Prime Minister said, “For so many years, Congress did not allow the demands of army personnel like One Rank-One Pension to be fulfilled. We implemented One Rank-One Pension as soon as the government was formed”.

Aiming Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi let 'Shehzada' abuse me. He urged people not to be unhappy about it. These days, the prince of Congress is enjoying insulting Modi every day. He keeps on saying anything. Some people are unhappy with such language being used for the Prime Minister of the country. I request everyone that please don't be sad, don't be angry, they are 'Naamdar' and we are 'Kaamdar',” he said.
