PM Modi Seeks Public Feedback Through 'Jan Man Survey' Ahead Of Lok Sabha Polls

PM Modi had called upon Indian citizens to participate in the "Jan Man Survey" to provide feedback on the progress of India over the past decade.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (January 1) called upon people to participate in the "Jan Man Survey" to provide feedback on the progress of India over the past decade. In a recent post on social media platform X, Modi invited individuals to share their opinions on India's advancements in various sectors during the last 10 years directly via the Jan Man Survey available on the NaMo App.

The "Jan Man Survey" was initially introduced on the NaMo app on December 19, replicating a similar initiative launched in 2018. This survey encompasses comprehensive questions regarding the performance of Modi's administration and that of local representatives. It is to be noted that the NaMo app, central to Modi's digital engagement with the populace, boasts over 2 crore subscribers.

Modi has previously executed analogous surveys, notably in 2016 following the demonetisation move, ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, and before the 2022 Assembly elections in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.

As reported by The Hindu, a survey conducted after the Bharatiya Janata Party's defeat in the 2018 Assembly elections in significant Hindi-speaking states led to the introduction of initiatives like the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, an income support scheme for farmers, and the reservation for the Economically Weaker Section within the general category.

The 103rd Constitutional Amendment Bill for the EWS quota was approved in January 2019 and operationalised that same year, strengthening the BJP's rapport with communities under the general category.

The Hindu report said that a government source indicated that the ongoing survey's outcomes would catalyse increased political engagement and foster fresh campaign strategies, paralleling the dynamic of early 2019.

The survey encompasses a spectrum of questions, from broad inquiries about government schemes to specific queries regarding the popularity of individual MPs or MLAs and electoral preferences.

Reflecting upon previous feedback mechanisms, including surveys on the NaMo app, the BJP revamped 35% of its first-time MPs in 2019 while retaining 173 out of its 268 Lok Sabha MPs.

With the impending 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Modi remains aligned with his core supporters, seeking insights and strategies based on their feedback.
