Ahead of the third phase of Lok Sabha polling, wherein 11 seats of Maharashtra will cast votes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been actively campaigning and is currently on a Marathawad tour, as a part of which he will hold three election rallies in the state today. In one of these rallies, held in Malshiras in Madha for BJP candidate Ranjeetsingh H. Naik Nimbalkar, PM Modi spoke about farmers, Lakhpati didis, and slammed Congress over their 60 years of governance and how BJP-led government accomplished in 10 years what the grand old party couldn't. 


Stressing how the government led by him has achieved what Congress couldn't in six decades, PM Modi said: "Today, the people of the country, the people of Maharashtra, are witnessing the difference between 10 years of Modi government and 60 years of Congress government. What Congress couldn't achieve in 60 years, your servant has accomplished in 10 years."


"In the past 10 years, since you have given me work, I have dedicated myself and every moment of my time to your service," the PM added.






Training guns at the grand old party, PM Modi said that the country gave 60 years to Congress to serve it but "India's growth remained stunted even as many nations across the globe became prosperous."


Addressing the public gathering in Madha, the PM also said: "A stable government takes care of the present while keeping in mind the needs of the future. Today, we are making huge investments in railways, roadways and airways. Our annual budget for infrastructure projects is equal to Congress’ infra budget of 10 years."

Talking about women empowerment, the PM said: "Women have a huge to role to play in building a Viksit Bharat. Modi has left no stone unturned to empower women."


He further emphasised the growth of women under his governance and stated: "Thousands of women have joined Self Help Groups in the past 10 years. Women are contributing to the fast-paced development of villages. We have made 1 crore women Lakhpati Didis. India will soon have 3 crore Lakhpati Didis and that’s my guarantee!"


PM Modi On Farmers & Irrigation


PM Modi also slammed Congress alleging that the party used to take away all the money that was sent by the Centre in the name of farmers. "


"Earlier, even a little money used to be taken away in the name of the farmer from Delhi, and the Congress's claws would loot it. But now, your son is sitting in Delhi. Now, every penny of your rights is reaching your account from Delhi," PM Modi said at the rally.


Talking about his resolve for the farmers, PM Modi stated that in developed India, farmer becomes the provider of food and the energy of the developed nation. The provider of food becomes the provider of energy, he said adding that over the last 10 years, farmers have made "India self-reliant in food production".


PM Modi claimed that his government has completed 63 out of the 100 stalled projects of Congress and added that it is is mission to ensure water reaches each field and home.


Slammig the Congress for even failing to deliver water to the fields, PM Modi said that 26 out of the 100 irrigation projects that had been stalled for decades, belonged to Maharashtra. 


"Imagine the magnitude of betrayal Congress has inflicted upon Maharashtra," he PM Modi said.


The PM also highlighted how the the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) for sugarcane was around 200 rupees, ten years ago, when the government had leaders from Maharashtra who were agriculture ministers. "During Modi's tenure, the FRP for sugarcane is around 350 rupees," he said.


PM Modi will also be addressing rallies in Dharashiv and Latur today for NCP nominee Archana Patil and Sudhakar Shringare later today.
