New Delhi: A Public Interest Litigation has been filed in Allahabad High Court seeking a stop on release of movie based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The biopic – ‘PM Narendra Modi’ was set to release on April 5, which is at a crucial time; as the nation is set to go to polls starting April 11.


The court is set to hear the matter on March 29.

The plea has been filed in the court in the wake of Model Court of Conduct which has already been implemented by the Election Commission.The posters and trailer of the movie have already been released, creating speculation and raising questions on the time of its release.

As per the complainant, PM Modi has been “politically glorified in the movie” and only one party will favour from the release of the movie.

The plea against the movie, which stars Vivek Oberoi as PM Modi, has been filed by Prayagraj’s social group Bhim Sena. The movie has been directed by famous Director Omang Kumar.

The Opposition on Wednesday also raised questions over PM Modi’s sudden address to nation over DRDO’s satellite launch.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday announced that India joined an elite club of space powers on account of the successful execution of 'Mission Shakti',minutes later, Congress president took to Twitter taking a jibe at the PM by wishing him ''happy World Theatre Day.”

The Congress president also congratulated the scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organization.

After a complaint was lodged with the EC against the timing of PM Modi’s address, the electoral body said that it will examine the same and sought the entire script of PM Modi’s speech.
