Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni arrived at a polling station in Ranchi to cast his vote for the ongoing 2024 Lok Sabha elections. A video that went viral on social media showed the former India and CSK captain entering the polling station, surrounded by media persons trying to capture him on their devices.

Dhoni was last seen in action for CSK in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2024, where the five-time champions failed to qualify for the playoffs after losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). After playing 14 matches, CSK finished fifth in the IPL 2024 points table, winning seven and losing the same number of matches.

Will MS Dhoni To Retire From IPL?

After CSK's exit from the IPL 2024, speculations about Dhoni's retirement have been rife but nothing concrete and formal has surfaced.  CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan stated that only MS Dhoni can answer questions about his retirement. He emphasised that the franchise respects Dhoni's decisions and trusts him to announce them at the appropriate time.

“It is a question only MS can answer. We have always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him and as all of you know he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time,” Viswanathan said in a video shared on CSK’s social media handles.

Dhoni stepped down from CSK captaincy before IPL 2024 and let Ruturaj Gaikwad assume the reins. Dhoni batted lower in the order for CSK throughout the IPL season. Despite this, he remained in good form, scoring 161 runs at an average of 53.66 and an impressive strike rate of 220.54, including 14 fours and 13 sixes.
