A man was killed in an incident that occurred in Bharatpur, Rajasthan when he was run over by a tractor during a clash over a long-standing land dispute, news agency PTI reported on Wednesday citing officials. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reacted quickly to the incident, criticising the ruling Congress party and demanding accountability. The BJP urged AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to apologise on behalf of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and to visit the village where the murder took place. The party also demanded the suspension of the district magistrate and the superintendent of police in Bharatpur.

BJP leader Rajendra Rathore, who is the Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan said, "The criminals are so fearless that they release videos of the crime. The incident of Bharatpur is a blot on humanity. The system and the Director General of Police (DGP) are not able to do their work properly, and that is why the criminals are fearless".

Rathore further pointed out the absence of condemnation or visits to such incident sites by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a prominent political figure, saying, "Priyanka Gandhi says 'Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti hoon,' but she did not even fight with her MP who said that rapes are taking place because it is a land of men..."

"She has neither condemned any incident nor has she visited any place of such incidents... Now, that the report card is in front of the people and their departure is confirmed, she is coming here making her points, but before that, she should speak on crime against women in Rajasthan," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that the need for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to demonstrate resolve. "She has to project that she has the spine to visit Bharatpur where this gruesome incident took place only a while ago. The video that has gone viral across the country and beyond is heart-wrenching," PTI quoted him as saying.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur also said: "If there is any example of lawlessness, where law and order have completely died, it is Rajasthan. In the last 5 years, over 2 lakh incidents of atrocities against women and 35,000 incidents of molestation were recorded in Rajasthan, and Ashok Gehlot's Congress government remained asleep. But what has happened today shows that no one is afraid there. What has happened to Rajasthan? Rajasthan was once known for tourism, and today it has become the capital of crime...The time has come to bid farewell to the Rajasthan Government," ANI quoted him as saying.
