On the seventh anniversary of the formation of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), the party chief and actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan countered questions about his full-time commitment to politics and emphasized the responsibility of every citizen to participate in the democratic process, including voting. He also stressed the difficulty of being an honest person in politics and asserted his unwavering commitment to the people despite challenges.

Addressing a press conference in Chennai on Wednesday, Kamal Haasan mentioned that discussions were underway for his party MNM's political alliance. He emphasized that MNM would support any bloc that prioritizes the nation selflessly but would refrain from participating in "feudal politics."

On alliance with I.N.D.I.A bloc, Kamal Hassan said, "I have already told that this is the time when you have to blur party politics and think about the nation. Anybody who thinks selflessly about the nation, my Makkal Needhi Maiam will be a part of it. But if we are playing local politics, then we won't be a part of it."
