Maharashtra Election 2024: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar on Saturday released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. The party has named 22 candidates in this new list. The announcement was made by Maharashtra State President of the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), Jayant Patil who stated, "So far I have announced the names of 67 candidates and we will win in all the places."


The NCP's list includes the following candidates:

Regarding the seat-sharing arrangement within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which comprises the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), Congress, and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), Jayant Patil remarked, "There will be no meetings now. Discussions are being held over the phone and according to that (candidates for) more seats will be announced."


"The discussions are mostly over, it may take a day or so for talks to conclude. All (Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP-SC) are contesting around 90 seats, there will be two-three seats more or less, so what Balasaheb Thorat has said is correct," he added.






Maharashtra Election 2024: Shiv Sena UBT Announces 3 More Candidates


Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) announced three more candidates for the assembly polls. The party’s new list includes Haroon Khan from Versova, Sanjay Bhalerao from Ghatkopar West, and Sandeep Naik from Vile Parle.






As of Friday evening, a total of 991 candidates filed their nomination papers for the Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for 20th November, officials confirmed, as per news agency PTI. Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis filed his nomination from the Nagpur South-West constituency, while Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar submitted his papers for the Bandra West seat.

The nomination filing process began on 22nd October, with 29th October being the last date for submission. The scrutiny of nominations is set for 30th October, and candidates can withdraw their nominations until 4th November. The counting of votes will take place on 23rd November.
