Having recently gained power in Karnataka, the Congress party is now focusing its attention on the upcoming key assembly election in Madhya Pradesh, with five proposed initiatives. Among these initiatives are a Rs 500 gas cylinder and a monthly sum of Rs 1500 provided to each female citizen of the state.
Congress Five Poll Promises For Upcoming Madhya Pradesh Elections Are:
- Gas cylinder at Rs 500
- Rs 1500 to every woman per month
- 100 units of free electricity, 200 units halved
- Farm loan waiver
- Implementation of old pension scheme
As per a party official, the campaign for the Congress party in Madhya Pradesh will begin on June 12, with a roadshow and a rally in Jabalpur, led by senior leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Prior to this, she will offer her prayers to the Narmada river, news agency PTI reported.
Priyanka's decision to visit Mahakoshal was influenced by the fact that it had been overlooked during her brother's acclaimed Bharat Jodo Yatra, according to a Congress member.
Digvijaya Singh, a member of the Rajya Sabha and an ex-chief minister, has expressed his belief that the Congress party's anticipated leader for the upcoming 2023 assembly election in Madhya Pradesh is Kamal Nath, the current president of the Madhya Pradesh branch of the party.
Speaking with media, Singh had said: "We will fight the elections in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Kamal Nath. So, he will be the CM’s face."
It is expected that the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh will take place towards the end of this year. In the 2018 polls, Congress gained the majority but their government was toppled in March 2020 when Jyotiraditya Scindia and over 20 of his supporters rebelled, enabling the Bharatiya Janata Party to regain power.
