Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday promised that if Bharatiya Janata Party is elected back to power in Madhya Pradesh it will provide housing for everyone in the state. Addressing a poll rally in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur, PM Modi said his party's government in the state has built 4 crore houses in the last 10 years.

"The BJP government has worked day and night to fulfill the dreams of the country's poor to have permanent houses. In the last 10 years, we have given permanent houses to more than 4 crore poor families," he said.

"We are people immersed in devotion - with the same devotion with which we build the grand Ram temple, we also build houses for 4 crore poor people," he added.

Targeting the Congress party, Modi said that the party will reverse the development journey of Madhya Pradesh.

"There is a reverse gear in vehicles that take them backwards. The Congress is an expert in reverse gear. Congress will reverse Madhya Pradesh's development journey," he said.

"Congress claimed Lord Ram to be fictitious to prevent the construction of Ram Temple. It also oppoed the abrogation of Article 370 and also opposed the country's first tribal woman President," he added.

"Congress also opposed teaching in Indian languages in medical and engineering colleges," said PM Modi.

Furthering his attack on Congress party, PM Modi said, "The slums where Congress leaders used to return after taking photographs.Today Modi is providing permanent houses to my poor brothers and sisters living in those slums."

"The poor and malnourished children with whom these Congressmen used to get themselves photographed, today this son of a poor mother, Modi, is worrying about the nutrition of those children," he added.
