As the stage for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections is set, political parties have accelerated their poll blitz to garner maximum support from voters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 23 and 24) address poll rallies in Chhattisgarh's Surguja, Mahasamund and Janjgir-Champa.
The PM will reach Raigarh on Tuesday afternoon from where he will depart for the Janjgir-Champa Lok Sabha seat, where he will address a poll rally in Baradwar village, news agency PTI reported citing official sources.
Thereafter, PM Modi will visit Shyamtarai village located in Dhamtari district, which comes under Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituency, to address a public gathering.
“The PM will stay overnight at Raj Bhawan in Raipur and then leave for Ambikapur in Surguja on Wednesday morning to address a rally. Later, he will depart for Madhya Pradesh via Raigarh,” PTI quoted the official as saying.
Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Urban) Lakhan Patle stated that elaborate security arrangements have been made and added, “Around 2,000 security personnel have been deployed between Swami Vivekanand Airport and Raj Bhawan in Raipur," the report noted.
As per the schedule, voting in Mahasamund will held on April 26, while the polling in Surguja and Janjgir-Champa will take place May 7.
PM Modi To Address Public Meeting In Rajasthan Today
Besides his Chhattisgarh visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be addressing a public meeting in Rajasthan's Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency today.
BJP's state general secretary, Shravan Singh Bagdi stated that PM Modiwill address a huge public meeting in the Uniara area of Tonk district.
The saffron party has fielded Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuria from the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency.
While voting for 12 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan was held on April 19, the remaining 13 seats will go to the polls on April 26 in the second phase.
Union Minister Amit Shah To Address Rallies In Chhattigarh
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also scheduled to address rallies in Chhattisgarh over the next three days.
He will address a public meeting in Kanker Lok Sabha constituency in the Bastar region on Monday, PTI reported citing BJP state media co-incharge Anurag Agrawal.
Polling will be held for Rajnandgaon and Kanker seats on April 26 in the second phase.
Shah on Sunday landed at Swami Vivekanand Airport in Raipur after which he chaired a meeting of senior party leaders at the state BJP headquarters.
He also took stock of the election preparations as well as PM Modi's visit sceduled for April 23 and 24.
The saffron party has fielded Bhojraj Nag from Kanker Lok Sabha seat against Congress candidate Biresh Thakur.
