Congress leader Nakul Nath, son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, on Tuesday, filed his nomination papers from the Chhindawara seat ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Nakul Nath was accompanied by his parents and other family members during his nomination filing. After filing his nomination, Congress leder Nakul Nath expressed his confidence on winning from his seat again and stated: "I have full faith that people of Chhindwara will give their love and blessings to me again."

Former MP CM Kamal Nath also commented on his son's nomination filing stating: "I have full faith in the people of Chhindwara that they will side with the truth. My relationship with the people of Chhindwara is familial, not political."

Nakul Nath will be facing Bharatiya Janata Party's Vivek Bunty Sahoo in the re-election campaign. Nath forayed into parliamentary politics in 2019 and has been successfully contesting from Chhindawara since then. He was the only member of Parliament belonging to INC from Madhya Pradesh in 2019, the Deccan Chronicle reported.

Last month, after Nakul Nath dropped the Congress party's name from his social media bio, there were rumours that he might shift to the saffron party. These rumours were further fueled after Kamal Nath and his son arrived in Delhi amid the switch speculation.
