With Lok Sabha elections inching closer, political leaders are drumming up support and campaigning rigorously for their respective politicial parties to emerge victorious in the upcoming polls. Congress's star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is all set to address a public meeting in Uttarakhand's Roorkee and Ramnagar Lok Sabha constituencies today (April 13).
Priyanka Gandhi will hold a public meeting in Nainital's Ramnagar town in support of party candidate Ganesh Godiyal who will be contesting Garhwal Lok Sabha. Subsequently, she will also address another public meeting in Roorkee on the same day.
Virendra Rawat, the son of former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat is contesting on a Congress party ticket in Haridwar.
"AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will address election rallies in Ramnagar in support of party candidate Ganesh Godiyal from Garhwal Parliamentary constituency and in Roorkee in support of candidate Virendra Rawat from Haridwar Parliamentary seat," ANI quoted Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee chief as saying.
The Garhwal Parliamentary constituency will witness a political battle between Bharatiya Janata Party's Anil Baluni and grand old party's Ganesh Godiyal.
On the other hand, Haridwar will witness a poll battle between former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Congress leader Virendra Rawat and BJP's Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Earlier this month, the Congress party unveiled its 'Nyay Patra' or manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections, guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) to farmers on their produce, among several other things.
The manifesto emphasises 'Paanch Nyay' or five pillars of justice, including 'Hissedari Nyay', 'Naari Nyay', 'Kisaan Nyay', Yuva Nyay', and 'Shramik Nyay' besides the guarantees made by it to the people as part of its poll promises for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Uttarakhand will elect representatives for five of its Lok Sabha seats and the state is set to go to the polls on April 19 in a single phase.
In the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling BJP-led NDA secured victory across all Lok Sabha constituencies.
