The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) announced five candidates for Punjab and two for Haryana for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

After the Samajwadi Party decided to drop sitting MP ST Hasan from Moradabad, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday said that the Akhilesh Yadav-led party has committed a conspiracy to end the political representation of minorities. The remarks came after the Samajwadi Party decided to field Ruchi Vira from Moradabad Lok Sabha seat.
National President of Lok Janshakti Party, Chirag Paswan says "We will get 40 out of 40 seats in Bihar. There is no doubt about it. In 2019, when we were 3 parties, we had won 39 seats out of 40. The CPI(M) on Thursday released its first list of 44 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The list, which was shared by the party on X, includes 15 candidates for Kerala, including sitting MP A M Arif from Alappuzha, former health minister K K Shailaja, and Rajya Sabha MP E Kareem.

Congress will launch the party's poll manifesto at a public meeting on April 6. The meeting will be attended by senior Congress leaders including party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi.
BJP candidate for Pilibhit, Jitin Prasad had a telephone conversation with current MP Varun Gandhi. He expressed gratitude to Varun Gandhi and welcomed him for sharing the stage in his electoral parliamentary constituency. As per sources, Varun Gandhi might also share Jitin's platform.

Congress on Wednesday released its eight list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. The Congress list includes candidates fielded in Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh which will go to polls starting April 19. In Jharkhand, the Congress has named Kalicharan Munda from Khunti, Sukhdeo Bhagat from Lohardaga and Jai Prakashbhai Patel from Hazaribagh.
The announcement of eighth list comes hours after top Congress leaders met in Delhi to hold discussions on party's Lok Sabha election candidates in UP, Telangana, Goa and Jharkhand.
The meeting saw the presence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, KC Venugopal and the members of its Central Election Committee including senior leaders Ambika Soni, Madhusudan Mistry, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Salman Khurshid.
In a major setback to the Aam Aadmi Party, party MP from Punjab's Jalandhar Sushil Kumar Rinku and MLA in the state Sheetal Angural joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi on Wednesday.
Rinku, the MP from Jalandhar in Punjab, and Angural, who was elected to the state Assembly from Jalandhar West, joined the saffron party in the presence of Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri and its national general secretary Vinod Tawde.
Sonia Gandhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been named as star campaigners of the party among 40 others for Madhya Pradesh which will vote in four phases in upcoming general elections. Former chief ministers Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, respectively, also figure on the list. The list names eight legislators, including Madhya Pradesh leader of the opposition Umang Singhar. Rajya Sabha members Ashok Singh and Vivek Tankha are also named.
