Uttar Pradesh: Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party on Friday released its first list of candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party released the names of 11 candidates who would contest polls along with ally Samajwadi Party.   


The list has the names of the following leaders along with their respective constituencies. Haji Fazlur Rehman Saharanpur, Malook Nagar from Bijnor, Girish Chandra from Nageena, Kunwar Daniya Ali from Amroha, Haji Mohammad Yakub from Meerut, Satbir Nagar from Gautam Budh Nagar, Yogesh Verma from Bulandshahr, Ajit Baliyan from Aligarh, Mnaoj Kumar Soni from Agra, Rajveer Singh from Fatehpur Sikri, Ruch Veera from Aonla.

Earlier in the day, party had released the names of its 20 top campaigners, with Mayawati’s nephew Aakash Anand, figured ar 3rd position from top.

Aakash Anand, who has been seen with Mayawati at some public engagements, was given the task to connect youngsters with the party dominated by Dalits.

Other prominent names in the list include Satish Chandra Mishra, Mayawati herself, R.S. Kushwaha, Raj Kumar Gautam, Naresh Gautam, Shamsuddin Rain, Kamal Singh Raj, Murari Lal Kein, Dinesh Kazipur, Ranvijay Singh and Janeshwar Prasad.



The first phase of Lok Sabha elections are set to take place in Uttar Pradesh on April 11. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
