New Delhi: BJP on Wednesday released its seventh list with two candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party fielded Navneet Rana from Maharashtra’s Amravati and Govind Kajrol from Karnataka’s Chitradurga.

Navneet Rana currently holds the position of Member of Parliament representing the Amravati constituency. She secured victory as an independent candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with the backing of Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), defeating Anandrao Adsul of Shiv Sena.

In Maharashtra, the BJP is forming an alliance with Ajit Pawar's NCP and the faction led by Eknath Shinde in Shiv Sena for the ongoing electoral battle.

Meanwhile, in Karnataka, the BJP is participating in the Lok Sabha elections alongside JD(S). According to the seat-sharing agreement, JD(S) will contest in three constituencies—Mandya, Hassan, and Kolar.

JD(S) had previously governed in coalition with Congress for a period of 14 months starting from May 2018, with Kumaraswamy serving as the Chief Minister. Despite their joint efforts in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, both parties managed to secure only one seat each, whereas the BJP clinched 25 seats and even facilitated the victory of an independent candidate it supported in Mandya.

As per reports, H D Kumaraswamy, a veteran JD(S) leader, announced plans for a joint coordination committee and workers' meeting involving both parties from the Mysuru and Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituencies, scheduled to take place in Mysuru.
