Rahul Kaswan Joins Congress Ahead Of LS Polls In A Major Blow To BJP

Earlier in the day, Kaswan took to social media X to announce his resignation as the Member of Parliament and from the primary membership of the party. 

Former Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Rajasthan's Churu, Rahul Kaswan joined the Congress party on Monday just hours after quitting from the primary membership of the saffron party, news agency ANI reported. Kaswan joined the grand old party in Delhi in the presence of party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Party's state incharge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra were also present at the ceremony.

Earlier in the day, Kaswan took to social media X to announce his resignation as the Member of Parliament and from the primary membership of the party. 

"Due to political reasons, at this very moment today, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the post of Member of Parliament," he said. 

"I express my gratitude to the entire Bharatiya Janata Party, National President Shri J.P. Nadda, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Shri Amit Shah ji, who gave me the opportunity to serve the Churu Lok Sabha family for 10 years," Kaswan added. 

According to the PTI, Kaswan chose to leave the BJP after not receiving a Lok Sabha polls ticket from the saffron party this time. Devendra Jhajharia, a paralympic athlete from Churu, will run for the BJP. Jhajharia, the party's new face from Churu. Jhajharia is a two-time gold medallist.
