Ahead of the fifth phase of Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed an election rally in Uttar Pradesh's Lalganj. Addressing the rally, PM Modi launched scathing attacks at the Samajwadi Party and came down heavily at Akhilesh Yadav's camp calling their the time when it was in power as 'gundaraj'."
"Yogiji has rightly implemented my 'swacchta abhiyan' against rioters, mafias, kidnappers and extortion gangs in Uttar Pradesh," PM Modi added.
During the election rally, PM also spoke about PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Under this scheme, PM Modi has announced to give Rs 75,000 for the installation of solar panels. As a part of the scheme, the UP government will also buy excess electricity, to provide free electricity to Indian households.
PM Modi's campaigning in Uttar Pradesh comes two days after PM Modi's last visit to the state, when he filed for his nomination papers in Varanasi, vying for a third term.
In another public address in UP's Azamgarh, PM Modi hit out at the opposition saying: "SP & Congress, 'dal 2 hain, lekin dukaan ek hi hai'. They sell the things of lies, appeasement and corruption. They have now come up with a 'triple dose' of appeasement..."
PM Modi, while talking about CAA at the rally said: "Granting Indian citizenship to refugees has already started under CAA... They all have been living in our country for a long, they are those people who have to suffer because of the partition of the country based on religion. Those who get to power in the name of Mahatma Gandhi but don't remember what he used to say... Congress never cared about these people, because they were not the vote bank of congress..."
Slamming SP and Congress for "spreading lies" over CAA, PM Modi said: "Parties like Samajwadi Party and Congress spread lies over the issue of CAA. They tried their best to burn the country, including UP, in riots. Even today, people of this INDI alliance say that Modi has brought the CAA and the day he goes, CAA will also be removed. I must tell you that nobody can remove CAA."
"Modi has removed their veil of fake secularism under the garb of which they tried to do votebank politics and made Hindu-Muslim fight against each other," PM Modi added, stressing that no one can remove CAA.
