Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged to voters on Tuesday to cast their vote as polling began for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections on 92 seats across 11 states and Union Territories. Modi sent out his social media posts on X in multiple languages Hindi, English, Kannada, Bangla, Assamese, Marathi, and Gujarati.
"Urging all those who are voting in today’s phase to vote in record numbers. Their active participation will certainly make the elections more vibrant," Modi's English post read.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also requested the voters to step out and vote.
"In the third phase of the Lok Sabha Election, I appeal to all the voters who are going to cast their votes today to accept voting as a duty towards contributing to nation-building," he wrote in his English post.
"Your vote will lay the foundation of good fortune for not only you but also for the entire nation for decades to come," he added.
The states where polling is underway include Assam (4 seats), Bihar (5), Chhattisgarh (7), Goa (2), Gujarat (25), Karnataka (14), Madhya Pradesh (8), Maharashtra (11), Uttar Pradesh (10), West Bengal (4), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (2).
