Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's younger brother Babun Banerjee expressed his displeasure after the party re-nominated Prasun Banerjee to contest from the Howrah Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal, according to a PTI report.
"I am not happy with the selection of the candidate from Howrah Lok Sabha seat. Prasun Banerjee is not the right choice. There were many capable candidates who were overlooked," he said on Wednesday, according to PTI.
However, he denied speculations that he might switch over to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Banerjee, who is currently in New Delhi said that he is pondering over contesting "Lok Sabha polls from Howrah seat as an independent."
Banerjee said he could "never forget the insult" that Prasun "hurled" at him, the report added.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's younger sibling, Babun Banerjee said he is a registered voter of Howrah.
"I know Didi (Mamata Banerjee) would not agree with me. But if needed, I will contest as an independent from Howrah Lok Sabha seat," he said.
On being asked about the speculations of him joining the BJP, he replied negatively.
"As long as Mamata di is there, I would never quit the party and neither would I join any other political party. Yes, as I am connected to sports, I know many BJP leaders, who too are connected with sports," he said.

Soon after Mamata's statement, Babun took a U-turn saying he knows "nothing beyond Didi" and that he won't contest as an Independent.
"She can tell me everything, I believe it is her blessing. Will no longer stand as an Independent candidate. I can do anything for Didi," he said.
