"Rahul Gandhi made false promises during his public meeting in Hyderabad. He had promised on the same ground during the Telangana Assembly elections, that if the Congress is in power in 100 days, then it will implement six guarantees. Promises were made but nothing has been done regarding the six guarantees," Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy told ANI.
Former minister and Congress leader Dinesh Agarwal resigned from Congress on Saturday.
Lashing out at the NDA government, Congress Rahul Gandhi claimed 30 farmers commit suicide daily. "After PM Modi came to power, crores of people became poor in India," Gandhi said in Hyderabad.
"There is an unbreakable bond between Congress and corruption...There was a song called 'Tu chal main aayi,' Congress and corruption have the same relationship...You must have seen wherever Congress comes, corruption reaches there too...The party is declining...Who is the famous finisher in Cricket? "I will take the example of Karnataka only. To win here (during the Assembly elections) they gave a huge manifesto (promises), those manifestos made them win but to fulfil those promises you need a budget and DY Shivakumar himself said they don't have funds for the development after which there was a huge financial burden... If in one state there is such a huge burden because of them (Congress government), then should the people of the country trust their promises," ANI quoted Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as saying.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat on Saturday met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray amid talks of the latter's party joining the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance.
Shirsat, a spokesperson of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, termed the meeting at Thackeray's residence Shivthirth in Dadar as personal.
He said his relation with Raj Thackeray goes back to the time when the latter used to accompany Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray on Marathwada tours more than two decades back.
Shirsat said he would be among the first to roll out a red carpet for him if the MNS joins the Mahayuti as this would only strengthen the ruling alliance.
Incidentally, Thackeray had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently, leading to speculation of MNS joining the Mahayuti. However, there is no official word on it. (PTI Input)
Sitting BJP MP from Jorhat Lok Sabha seat, Topon Kumar Gogoi, on Saturday exuded confidence of retaining the constituency by trouncing his rival Gaurav Gogoi of the Congress by a margin of over two lakh votes.
In an interview to PTI, the BJP leader asserted that people of his constituency and the entire country want Narendra Modi elected as prime minister for the third consecutive term so that the "development journey continues”.
He also claimed that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, which the opposition is "trying to make an election issue", is not at all a concern among voters.
"My campaigning is going on very well. Political meetings are being held in every panchayat of all the legislative assembly constituencies of Jorhat, and I am getting spontaneous reactions of people irrespective of religion, caste and creed," the BJP MP said.

The nomination papers of three out of 65 candidates have been rejected during scrutiny for the second phase of polls to five parliamentary constituencies of Assam on April 26, an election official said.
The nominations of two candidates were rejected in Nagaon and one in Karimganj. However, in Silchar (SC), Darrang-Udalguri and Diphu (ST), all the papers submitted were found valid.
Altogether 65 candidates had filed their nominations for the second phase on the last day on Thursday. (PTI Inputs)

Here's what TMC leader Shatrughan Sinha said while addressing a public meeting in Asansol on Friday. "We will take (West) Bengal to the first place. I will act as a medium and bridge between people and Mamata (Banerjee)," Sinha was quoted as saying by PTI.

Sonia Gandhi, Kharge To Hold Rally In Jaipur On Saturday, To Publicly Launch Poll Manifesto
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Sonia Gandhi and other leaders of the party will hold a rally in Jaipur on Saturday to publicly launch its election manifesto. "Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge will hold a big public meeting tomorrow in Jaipur and will tell the people about the manifesto. There is a great enthusiasm among the workers for tomorrow's meeting," Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra told reporters on Friday, as quoted by news agency PTI.
The meeting will be held at Jaipur's Vidhyadhar Nagar stadium.
Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot posted on X, "Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge are arriving in Jaipur tomorrow to launch the Congress manifesto 'Nyaya Patra' that guarantees justice." "I request all the Congress workers to reach Vidyadharnagar ground in Jaipur tomorrow on 6th April at 11 am and make this program successful," he said.
