According to the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has won Basohli seat from Jammu and Kashmir with total 31874 votes by a margin of 16034.
BJP candidate Darshan Kumar has won the elections from the Basohli Assembly constituency that is situated near Kathua in Jammu. Basohli is a town near Kathua in Kathua district in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. According to ECI, as of 12:33 PM, Congress and NCP are leading in 51 seats out of 90 Assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir, while BJP is ahead in only 28 seats. PDP is leading on two seats.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Udhampur Lok Sabha seat was won by Dr Jitendra Singh of BJP who defeated Ch Lal Singh of INC.
After Lal Singh's loss in Lok Sabha polls, he was given Congress ticket for this Assembly election from Basohli. Chaudhary Lal Singh, who had lost the Lok Sabha seat earlier this year has now also lost the Assembly seat of Basohli.
Lal Singh spoke to press on morning and said that BJP has not spent a penny in the constituency of Basohli.
Basohli Assembly constituency went to the polls in Phase 3 of the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. The counting of votes began today morning at around 8 AM.
Chaudhary Lal Singh (INC), Darshan Kumar (BJP), Pankaj Kumar (BSP), Yoginder Singh (PDP) were four candidates who fought elections from the Basohli Assembly seat in the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election.
