Jammu Kashmir Assembly Election 2024: The Election Commission of India has changed the date of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly election results. Now, the election results will be announced on October 8 instead of October 4. However, there has been no change in the election dates.
On Saturday, the Election Commission announced the change in the date of the Jammu and Kashmir election results, along with a change in the date of the Haryana Assembly election results. Now, the counting of votes will take place on October 8 instead of October 4.
After almost 10 years, voting will be held in three phases for the 90 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir. In the first phase, voting will be held on September 18 for 24 assembly seats of the state. Similarly, in the second phase, voting will be held on September 25, 2024, for 26 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir. In the third and final phase, voting will be held for 40 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir on October 1.
Jammu and Kashmir Election Schedule
The nomination process for the first phase of the assembly elections started on August 20 and continued till August 27, and the nomination papers were scrutinised on August 28, while yesterday, Friday (August 30), was the last date for withdrawal of names.
Similarly, the nomination process for the second phase started on October 29 and the last date for filing nominations is September 5. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on September 6 and names can be withdrawn till September 9.
In the third phase, the nomination process for 40 seats will be held from September 5 to September 12. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on September 13 and candidates can withdraw their names till the 17th. Now, the counting of votes will be held on October 8, 2024, instead of October 4.
