Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Polls 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday announced its third list of 29 candidates for the second and third phases of the Jammu and Kashmir elections. The party also changed its candidate for the Mata Vaishno Devi Assembly seat, replacing Rohit Dubey with Baldev Raj Sharma.






The third list includes ten candidates for the second phase of the assembly polls and 19 for the third and final phase. As per Election Commission's notification, the assembly polls will be held in the Valley in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1. The votes will be counted on October 4.


For the second phase, the party has fielded Mohammad Akram Choudhary from Gulabgarh, Baldev Raj Sharma from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Kuldeep Raj Dubey from Reasi, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali from Budhal, Ashok Bhat to contest from Habbakadal, and Thakur Randhir Singh from Kalakote-Sunderbani.


It has also named Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari from Surankote, Murtaza Khan from Mendhar, Choudhary Abdul Ghani from Poonch Haveli, Mohd. Iqbal Malik from Thannamandi.


In the third phase, Pawan Gupta will contest from Udhampur West, Balwant Singh Mankotia from Chenani, Sunil Bhardwaj from Ramnagar (SC), Jeevan Lal from Bani, Satish Sharma from Billawar, Darshan Singh from Basohli, and Rajiv Jasrotia from Jasrota.


Besides them, other candidates on BJP's list include, Adv. Vijay Kumar Sharma from Hiranagar, Dr. Devinder Kumar Maniyal from Ramgarh (SC), Surjit Singh Slathia from Samba, Chandra Prakash Ganga from Vijaypur, Gharu Ram Bhagat from Suchetgarh (SC), Narinder Singh Raina from Pura-Jammu South, and Yudhvir Sethi from Jammu East. 


Devinder Singh Rana will contest from Nagrota, Arvind Gupta from Jammu West, Sham Lal Sharma from Jammu North, Mohan Lal Bhagat from Akhnoor (SC), and Rajeev Sharma from Chhamb.
