Lok Sabha Elections Results: After one hour of counting in the Lok Sabha elections, the gap between the I.N.D.I.A Bloc and the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA bloc closed up. The opposition bloc crossed 200 Seat Mark and is likely to catch up with the NDA, as per early trends.
The Lok Sabha elections were held across the country in seven phases from April 19 to June 1. Amid the counting of votes, all eyes were set on Uttar Pradesh's Raeebareli constituency. Raebareli, a Congress bastion, witnessed a fierce battle between senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP's) Dinesh Pratap Singh.
According to early trends, the I.N.D.IA bloc was leading on the seat followed by the NDA bloc. Congress's Rahul Gandhi is leading and he was trailed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP's) Dinesh Pratap Singh. Besides the BJP and the Congress, the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has also fielded Thakur Prasad Yadav.
In a big surprise, the I.N.D.I.A bloc was seen having an edge in Uttar Pradesh and was leading on 44 seats, followed by the BJP-led NDA. In Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trailing from the high profile seat as per the early trends of the Election Commission of India. Congress Ajay Rai was seen leading with 6223 votes as counting was underway.
As per ABP News-CVoter exit polls, In UP, the opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc was likely to win anywhere between 15 and 17 seats with a vote share of 36.9%, while the BJP-led NDA was predicted to win 62-66 seats with 44.1% of the votes in its favour.
According to the exit polls announced on June 1, the National Democratic Alliance will retain its power at the Centre with a thumping victory. The ABP-CVoter survey, the BJP-led alliance is projected to win 353 to 383 seats out of the total 543 Lok Sabha seats. The saffron party alone is projected to win 315 seats, which is greater than its 2019 tally of 303 seats, the pollsters have predicted.
